and things will get better

Crisis averted. Waiting in the corner now for the next act.

Listening to Lhasa De Sela, she had a lovely self-titled album that everyone should check out. The singer died after her 2-year battle with breast cancer. My favorite songs of hers: A Fish on Land, I'm Going in

When my lifetime had just ended
And my death had just begun
I told you I’d never leave you
But I knew this day would come

Give me blood for my blood wedding
I am ready to be born
I feel new
As if this body were the first I’d ever worn

I need straw for the straw fire
I need hard earth for the plow
Don't ask me to reconsider
I am ready to go now

I'm going in I’m going in
This is how it starts
I can see in so far
But afterwards we always forget
Who we are

I'm going in I’m going in
I can stand the pain
And the blinding heat
'Cause I won't remember you
The next time we meet

You'll be making the arrangements
You'll be trying to set me free
Not a moment for the meeting
I'll be busy as a bee

You'll be talking to me
But I just won't understand
I'll be falling by the wayside
You'll be holding out your hand

Don't you tempt me with perfection
I have other things to do
I didn't burrow this far in
Just to come right back to you

I'm going in I’m going in
I have never been so ugly
I have never been so slow
These prison walls get closer now
The further in I go

I'm going in I’m going in
I like to see you from a distance
And just barely believe
And think that
Even lost and blind
I still invented love

as one of my favorite female TV character said...

Life sucks and then you die. And then it still sucks.
~George Lass, Dead Like Me

I do not have first hand experience with the second part of that sentence but I think it sums up pretty well the... unfairness and general.. suckiness? is that word? of the world. How do things work. Why would someone act like a tool. What do you need to survive in a world where everyone wants to stub everyone in the back. These are the $60-million-dollar questions, my friends (or random people who turned up here and are reading this page).

Bleak day today. Oh, it started well enough and then took a dive nosefirst. It just happens. You learn from it and move on. Bad mood and two ice-creams later, I still feel a void. It will pass with time. It must.

Some pictures to forget the clouds on the horizon that loom precariously close to my head..

Please, someone explain to me, for the love of everything that you hold dear, why would someone wear these. Why do they exist in the first place.

Classic and classy. Work it, baby.
Preposterous, quite frankly.
Adios!

once more, with feeling

I can't seem to make up my mind. Greek? English? Greeklish? I'm familiar with both and I've recently realized that there's some merit in writing in Greek (even though I was not used to it, it's been kind of fun, practicing my verbal/writing skills on my mother-tongue). Because, like it or not, my life has been flooded with the ever presense of english (at work, on the internet, on the books I read & the movies I watch) and I like it.

So, I am undecided. Maybe I'll switch; one post in english, the other in greek. We'll see.

In further random news, I found some icons in my hard drive of this film that changed the world. Kinda. I am talking about Brokeback Mountain. I admit, I teared up at the end of the movie. And left the cinema with an enormous crush on Jake Gyllenhaal.

So much beauty in one icon. So much telling in one film.

Εχθές παρεβρέθηκα στην πρώτη συναυλία των Interpol (oh yes baby) στην Ελλάδα, εκ των οποίων το αγαπημένο μου τραγούδι είναι το Pioneer to the Falls (το οποίο και δεν έπαιξαν τελικά).

perhaps I should write in Greek

Story of my life, που λένε και στα ξένα (στα οποία, έτσι όπως πάει η χώρα, εκεί θα καταντήσουμε).

is this really necessary.

Finding new ways to procrastinate. My mind, it boggles.

I do not know why I am here (this isn't a philosophical discussion, I assure you, nor a rhetorical one). I simply don't know what I'm doing, starting a blog, here. Is it my hunger for wanting to pour out words, I ask you, the need to be heard?

It is not, for I am not particularly wordly with my thoughts and wishes and everyday occuring facts. Oh, inside my own head I speak aplenty, make no jest of it. But out in the world, where every thing counts, I prefer to listen and not to talk at (or to) people.

You would think this makes me quite the anti-social person. Or, perhaps not, since pretty much everyone needs of someone next to them, listening to their every thought and whim. But I'm neither this nor that.

It is time to leave now, the clock reminds me I should have gone to bed hours ago. Dear peoples, I bid you good night.
